A Saudi
student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout was attacked early Sunday
near campus and later died from the injuries Monday afternoon.
Hussain
Saeed Alnahdi, a 24 years old man from Buraydah, Saudi Arabia, had come
to the university of Wisconsin-Stout to study business administration in
2015. Unfortunately, Hussain tragically passed away Monday afternoon due to
injuries sustained from an attack the day before outside Topper’s Pizza in
downtown Menomonie, Wisconsin. He was immediately taken to Mayo Clinic Health
System in Menomonie, and then transferred to by helicopter to Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire
where he died.
Witnesses at the scene claim that Hussain was assaulted by a 6’ white male at 2 a.m., who then fled the scene leaving a bloodied and unconscious Alnahdi.
It
is not known whether it’s a hate crime towards Muslims or not, as no arrests
have been made, but the crime had generated fear among the Muslim community the
city. RIP Hussain.
