Dumbledore might be openly gay in Fantastic beasts and where to find them

 

     A few months back we learned that our beloved master wizard Albus Dumbledore is set to come back in the second installment of the upcoming movies Fantastic beasts and where to find them, and although the role is yet to be cast, we couldn’t hide our excitement to see new sides of one our best characters in the franchise.

  

   In 2007, J.K. Rowling that Dumbledore was gay when she said: “I always thought of Dumbledore as gay. Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was.”, but this side of his personality was never the subject of discussion in the books or the movies, and his sexuality was never made clear.

   That might not be the case in Fantastic beasts and where to find them 2, as Rowling hinted that Albus Dumbledore might be openly gay in the new movie, and his relationship with dark magician Gellert Grindelwald, who is going to be portrayed by Johnny Depp, will be considered.

“Well, I can't tell you everything I would like to say because this is obviously a five-part story, so there's lots to unpack in that relationship. I will say that you will see Dumbledore as a younger man, and quite a troubled man because he wasn't always the sage. He was always very clever, but we'll see what I think was the formative period of his life. As far as his sexuality is concerned, watch the space.”
